The Sensex rallied over 200 points on the back of heavy buying visible in the heavyweight stocks such as Tata Motors, HDFC, Sun Pharma, NTPC and ICICI Bank.Also positive Asian market give support even as global geo-political tensions remain.
Consumer Durables, auto, pharma, oil & gas and power stocks are seeing good buying trend. Although there is selling in IT and FMCG stocks. Midcap and Smallcap stocks also has good buying.
The 30-share BSE index is currently trading at 25,693 with a gain of 174 points.The NSE 50-share Nifty index gained 45 points, ie, 0.6 per cent and is trading at 7670.5.
In the trading session, Tata Motors, GAIL, ONGC, Tata Power, NTPC and HDFC stocks have gained 6.1 to 2.2 per cent. However, Bharti Airtel, M & M, BHEL, TCS, Infosys and ITC fell 1.8 to 0.5 per cent.
In midcap stock JK Cement , PTC India, Ramco Cement, Eicher Motors and BF Utilities moved up 9.6 to 4 per cent.In Smallcap, Zee Learn, Sarda Energy, Navneet, Godavari Power and SRF are stronger by 13 to 9.5 per cent.
