The market fell marginally Wednesday on account of profit booking but the outperformance of broader indices continued with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gaining close to 2 percent.
Sensex down 53 points to 24,806 and the Nifty fell 14 points to close at 7402 .
Realty , capital goods , metal shares climbed 1.5 to 1 per cent . Consumer Durables , Power , Auto , bank shares strengthened from 0.8 to 0.5 per cent . Oil & Gas , IT , tech stocks broken 1.25 to 1 per cent . FMCG stocks were weak . Healthcare shares are dull .
