Due to reduction of SLR in the credit policy, the stock market showed enthusiam.Sensex gained 174 points and closed at 24,858 and the Nifty rose 53 points to close at 7416 . Midcap and Smallcap stocks rose 0.6-1.2 per cent .
Metal stocks surged 5 per cent and realty stocks 3 percent.Oil & gas , consumer durables , power , capital goods stocks rose 1.75 to 1.25 per cent .Auto shares have 0.3 percent growth.
However , FMCG stocks declined 0.75 per cent and healthcare stocks dropped 0.5 percent. Bank shares also came under pressure . IT and tech shares traded dull.
