Sensex gain 80 points ; IT stocks lead | Nifty intraday future calls | Tips for next week 21 july 2014

Despite of weak International signals, domestic market closed with a gain of 0.3 per cent. The Sensex gained 80 points to 25641 and the Nifty gained 23 points to close at 7664. However, midcap shares fell nearly 0.5 per cent.

IT and tech shares rose nearly 1.5 to 1 per cent. Bank shares gained 0.75 per cent. Capital goods stocks rose nearly 0.5 per cent. Auto stocks were sluggish.

Power, realty, consumer durables, Oil & Gas shares fell 1.3 to 0.8 percent. Metal shares were 0.5 percent weaker. FMCG and healthcare stocks had slight pressure.

TCS profit in the first quarter of fiscal 2015 reduced 4.5 per cent to Rs 5057 crore. TCS rose by 2.5 per cent.

In IT shares Siant, Rolta India, HCL Tech, Wipro, Hexaware gained 5-2 per cent.

Heavyweight stock IDFC, Hero Moto, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Wipro, NMDC rose from 2.5 to 1.5 per cent.

Tata Power, Ambuja Cements, GAIL, Hindalco, BHEL, UltraTech Cement, SBI, Maruti Suzuki, Sesa Sterlite, Grasim, Jindal Steel fell 2.7 to 1.5 percent.

International Market

• European markets are under pressure.DAX broke nearly 1 per cent. FTSE fell 0.6 per cent and CAC drop by 0.4 percent.
• In Asiaan market, the Nikkei broke 1 per cent. Hang Seng also fell.The Shanghai Composite and Straits Times gained slightly.
• Rupee trades in a weakness against US dollar.The rupee is currently trading at 60.39 levels.
