After a heavy rally last week , the stock market was calm today.Today market had profit taking and finally Sensex - Nifty closed at almost the same levels as yesterday . Although the midcap continues to shine strongly with 2 percent movement. CNX Midcap closed at the level of 10,000 for the first time. The BSE Smallcap index gained 3 percent . Today Realty , IT , metal and pharma stocks shows good buying . Although oil & gas and banking stocks dominated with selling pressure.
Finally, the BSE 30-share index, Sensex gained 14 points to close at 24,377. The NSE 50-share Nifty index gained 12 points, ie 0.2 per cent to close at 7275.5 .
Heavyweights shares , Sesa sterlite closed by gaining 8 percent. NMDC gained 5.1 percent and BHEL and Tata steel rose 3.6 percent. Wipro rose 3.2 per cent , M & M 3.1 percent , IDFC 3 per cent , Infosys 2.8 per cent , Bharti Airtel 2.6 per cent, HDFC and Hindalco 2.5 per cent . Although in big shares Coal India has dropped 6 percent . ONGC , Reliance Industries , Hero Moto , Bank of Baroda , GAIL has broken from 4 to 2.1 per cent .
In midcap DB Realty , Unitech , IL & FS Transport , AIA Engineering climbed by 20 to 10.7 percent . In the smallcap space, Hanung Toys , Capital First , BGR Energy , Aban Offshore , Gitanjali Gems jumped off 20 to 18.4 percent .
