The stock market continues to rally today . Sensex gains 278 points after opening at best and Nifty reached nearly 7300 . However , now the market has slipped from the upper levels .
At 9:22 am , the Sensex gained 184 points to 24,305 and Nifty gained 44 points at 7247 levels . Midcap and Smallcap stocks have 1 to 0.5 percent growth .
Metal , capital goods , power , bank , realty shares rose 2.5 to 2 per cent . Oil & gas , consumer durables , auto stocks are strong 1.6 to 0.8 per cent . Healthcare stocks rose 0.5 per cent . However , IT and tech stocks have broken 2-1 per cent. FMCG stocks are sluggish .
In Nifty stocks, Seas Sterlite moved up around 4.5 per cent . Coal India , NTPC , Tata Power , BPCL , SBI , L & T , Maruti Suzuki , Axis Bank , HDFC , PNB , DLF, ONGC , Bank of Baroda rose from 3.5 to 2 per cent .
Giants stocks TCS, Infosys , Wipro , HCL Tech , Tech Mahindra broke by 2-1 per cent. Dr Reddy's , HUL , ITC fell from 0.5 to 0.25 per cent . Tata Motors is under pressure .
In Asian markets SGX Nifty is trading 0.4 percent higher at 7269 . Nikkei , Straits Times , Taiwan Index , Kospi are dull . However , Shanghai Composite broke by 1 per cent .
