Oil and Gas , Metal , capital goods stocks rose 1.5 to 1 per cent . FMCG , banking , consumer durables , auto shares strengthened from 0.5 to 0.3 per cent . IT and tech stocks broke by 1 percent.Realty , Healthcare , Power shares fell 0.75 to 0.5 percent .
In Nifty Hindalco rose 5 percent . Jindal Steel , Tata Steel , Reliance Industries , ONGC , L & T , Axis Bank , ITC , Asian Paints , BPCL , PNB , Bank of Baroda rose 2-1 per cent .
Canara Bank's net profit in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2014 reduced by 15.8 percent to Rs 610.8 crore. Canara Bank moved up by 7 percent .
Sun Pharma has announced to close Detroit plant.Sun Pharma 's shares slipped by 0.6 percent.
Asian markets have a mixed response.Hang Seng broke by 1.3 percent. Straits Times slipped . The Shanghai Composite and Taiwan index are dull . The Nikkei was closed today .
