Markets rally continues today . Sensex and Nifty opened with a new record . Nifty has crossed 6900 for the first time . Sensex reached above 23300.
On morning 9:21 am, the Sensex gained 312 points to 23,306 and Nifty gained 87 points at 6945 levels . Midcap and Smallcap stocks rose by 0.7 to 0.5 per cent .
Banks , oil & gas , capital goods , power , realty shares rose 1 to 0.5 per cent . Metal , consumer durables , IT , tech stocks are strong at nearly 0.5 per cent . Auto , FMCG and healthcare stocks are sluggish .
In Nifty ONGC rose 3.5 per cent . Axis Bank , SBI , Reliance Industries , L & T , GAIL , PNB , BHEL , BPCL , DLF rose from 2 to 1.5 per cent .
Heavyweights stocks like Cipla , Sun Pharma , United Spirits , Hindalco fell 0.8 to 0.3 percent . Dr Reddy's , TCS , Maruti Suzuki are weak .
Asian Markets have a mixed trend . The Shanghai Composite rose 1.3 percent and Hang Seng rose 1 per cent. SGX Nifty is trading around 6925 . However, the Taiwan Index and Straits Times fell 0.5 percent . Nikkei also weak .
